This low calorie, low fat orange smoothie recipe is perfect for weight loss...and delicious!

Citrus is touted for its many health benefits and the orange is no exception.

A Healthy and Delicious Smoothie

This smoothie recipe has it all. It packs an impressive amount of protein, vitamins, and minerals, plus a few necessary carbohydrates for energy. The fat content is very minimal, but there is just enough to make it a filling meal. For people who have attained their desired weight, drinking this smoothie is still an excellent way to maintain great health for any meal of the day. Best of all, it’s so delicious that losing weight will actually be fun!

An important thing to consider: a drink that contains ice cream or frozen yogurt is not a smoothie – it’s a shake. When done right, however, a smoothie can be every bit as mouth-watering, and without the guilt!

Substitute With Splenda

Many of the following ingredients can be substituted for sugarless versions. In that case, use several packets of a sugar substitute, such as Splenda, to maintain sweetness. Ingredients that offer sugarless versions are marked with an asterisk.

Orange Smoothie Recipe

  • 1 Orange
  • 1 Low Fat Orange Creme Yogurt* (6 oz.)
  • 1 Packet Vanilla Carnation Instant Breakfast*
  • ½ Cup Nonfat Milk
  • Splash of Vanilla Creamer*
  • ½ Cup crushed Ice (optional)
  • 2 Tbs Fat-Free Whipped Cream* (optional)

Serves one. Double the ingredients for two servings. Calories per serving: 400

How To Make An Orange Smoothie

  1. In a blender, combine yogurt, orange, Instant Breakfast, milk, creamer, and crushed ice on high speed.
  2. Pause blender to scrape ingredients from the sides, then resume high speed until consistency of mixture is smooth.
  3. Pour into a tall glass and top with fat-free whipped cream if desired.
  4. Enjoy!
